Pirate Anne Bonny comes for a visit...

Fortunately for us....and apparently unfortunately for her, Mr. Tekatch confiscated Mrs. Bonny's weapons when she arrived and said she could pick them up in the office on the way out....

"Mrs. Bonny" came on Miss Leonard's request to give our class an example of how to give a speech in character.  Everyone will be doing that for the Socials Fair on the 19th.

Mrs. Bonny told about her life.  It was very interesting and intense.  She didn't like it when one of the students laughed in a serious moment....Poor Zack was almost the result of an "accident"...it would appear that Mr Tekatch did not get all of Mrs. Bonny's weapons.

We heard all about her captain--Calico Jack--and her best friend Mary Read, who was another famous lady pirate that terrorized the south seas.  Many of Anne and Mary's "mates" aboard The Revenge were hung for piracy.  Anne's most famous quote was, "If ye had fought like men, ye wouldn't have to die like dogs." No one is sure what ultimately happened to Anne Bonny (after she left our class)...

There were lots of questions her life which Mrs Bonny answered, and then she went on to teach the fundamentals of a good speech.  Very curious as to how she had such good tips....but pirates are curious people....
