Hard at work on book publications!

Our class has been working SOOOOOO hard on our books! That's right! Books! Everyone has written and illustrated their own story.  We started by designing our own publishing company and assigning everyone as editors and art directors.  We then signed contracts with Miss Leonard as the publisher's representative.  Next....Write the stories and draw the pictures.  We have such a variety of creativity in our classroom.  Stories ranged from Non-fiction Children's books, to Autobiographies, to a beautifully illustrated story about a little elephant that learns to listen to his mother.   Check out some of our progress below!

Writing an award winning tale with the publishers contract close at hand.

Tory working on the second draft of her story.

Anais using the window to make perfectly straight lines on her final copy.

Abigail working on her book kit.

Bethany working on her Candy Land story illustrations.

Michael worked so hard and even stayed hours after school to finish his colorful and active illustrations.  He knows each character inside-out, right down to who is left-handed.

Carrie finished her own book and then lent a hand to some of her classmates who needed help.

Making last minute additions to her drawings, Ava is almost finished in this picture! (Too bad I don't catch a video of her victory dance when she was finally finished!!)

Sharon thinking hard!

Faith worked right to the last minute, and with the help of some of her friends and their outlining efforts, she finished just in time!

The most exciting moment--and I think our cheer rocked the whole school--putting our kits in the box to be mailed!!

They are in the hands of the UPS now, but we are very excited to get them back and have our book party to proudly show them off to friends and family!
