Happy Holidays!

Winter break has started!! How exciting! There were several Christmas, winter, and term end activities that have happened over the last few days...here are a few:

Our class won second place in the door decorating competition with our door titled "Hope your Christmas is out of this world".

For art, we painted Christmas bulbs using our handprints to make the snow men's bodies.  Some of these turned out really well!

We enjoyed the last of the little gifts from our buddies and.....

had our gift exchange. Everyone was super excited to discover who their buddy was, and all seemed to love their gifts.

Then we had our class party. Our charge mom and all her helpers did a great job and the party was a great success!

Charity was the colouring contest winner in the library! Congrats, Charity!

AND!! Last night several of the students were in the school play! What a success!

I pray everyone has a safe and happy holiday!
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!!

Bon Appetit!

Bonjour!  Today Mrs. Dehkurdi finished up her French unit with a tasty treat! The students all made their own pizza and videoed a scripted cooking show in French to show us how they did it.  Here are some pictures from the kitchen.

Then back in the classroom, they got to eat their tasty creations.  Some groups had LOTS of pizza!! Here is Zach with his own pie!

"Now, we have to divide this evenly!"

No dividing for Desmond! He got the whole thing!

Here is Sharon.  She only ate ONE piece....

Christmas Time is Here!!!

With Christmas this close there is so much going on!  We have spent some time to really get into the holidays, though.  Last week in art we learned how to make AMAZING snowflakes--which are now hung all over our classroom! Check some of them out!

AND today we finished our door for the Christmas door decorating competition.  Everyone worked so hard painting planets, cutting out letters, stringing lights! Good job, everyone!  We will see what the results of the judging are tomorrow!!!
